Finally on the home stretch, or what felt like it anyway, the Mission Range, northeast of Missoula, was like the Rockies ranges I knew up in Canada, but even spicier. Tall and aggressive, these behemoths towered some 2500 m over the surrounding valley bottoms and instilled hope in my heart with every kilometer that passed.
